2013 Health IT Program Guides:
This year’s Health IT Student Innovation Award challenges students to develop a “healthy lifestyle” mobile app or mobile optimized website that connects people with opportunity, information and resources on preventing childhood obesity. The purpose of this contest is to make students aware of the opportunities among health IT careers. Students will evaluate the current trends in the use of mobile applications and how they impact our healthcare delivery system. Health related areas to be addressed in the application might include nutrition, activity level, and causes and prevention of childhood obesity.
Please note: High school teams will develop a mobile app. Middle school teams will develop a mobile-optimized website. Review the program guide for full details on final deliverables.
Submissions are due September 30, 2013 at noon. Please note, all supplemental material must be embedded on your mobile app or website. Email attachments will not be accepted. Finalists will be notified in October and will receive further instructions regarding presenting at the Health IT Leadership Summit on November 12, 2013.
